About Me
For those wondering, I am a 25 year old programmer. I was suckered into getting my CS degree, but I never went to class, with the exception of a collection of design (arts) oriented classes. During college I repaired laptops, desktops, and ocassionally phones to help pay for rent and stuff.
Then, I started my career as a UX engineer, working with post-docs to help bring their research to life and make it more digital and accessible to your average person. They made me feel like an idiot, and compared to them, I am. This was a good thing. After a few years dabbling in UX, I joined a big tech company, specifically working with cloud infra/systems. There I worked on DevEx and productivity, which was been quite, and allowed me to bounce all around the stack.
During parental leave in 2025 I spent a lot of time inbetween taken care of a newborn reading about large language models, and the history of machine learning as a sub-field. My interests lead me to eventually apply and get accepted into UT Austin graduate school, where I am currently studying ML systems engineering, specifically as it relates to NVMe’s and non-gpu memory. Currently I work on a ML platform team, connecting my prior experience in DevEx with my interests in ML.
Most of my time not spent in front of screen is spent running, lifting, and hanging out with my family: wife, kid, and dog. Start a family anon. Its worth it.
